Confucius Says… – September 29th

Today is Confucius Day.  For those who don’t know, Confucius is perhaps the first great philosopher.  He was also a teacher, a scholar and a politician.  He is responsible for giving the world 499 famous sayings.

The original Confucius Day dates back thousands of years, but know one knows who began it or why it is celebrated on this date.

    • I do have an ‘About’ page actually. There is a link at the top right corner of my page. As for the fascination with Confucius, I don’t have any Chinese blood, but when I was in high school I did a report on Confucianism and Taoism and found it very enlightening. Plus Confucius Day is a National Day that many people may not have heard about. At least not in the United States.

      • Sorry I must have missed the page. Well Confucius did say some cool stuff and no I didn’t know there was a National Day. A lot of the fundamental values of Chinese culture is influenced by him, such as respecting elders and the importance of family.
