Lead me not into Temptation

SpinCycle Prompt:

Temptation: As in “lead us not into…”

What are your greatest temptations? Are we talking sex, drugs and rock and roll? Or just a half-gallon of Rocky Road?

Can you resist temptation? Or are you weak? What temptations are irresistible?

Copyright remains that of the original owner.

There are so many temptations in my life:  Cigarettes, Dr. Pepper, Doctor Who, an occasional nice glass of Merlot, and kissing my boyfriend if we were ever in the same state at the same time.  All these temptations are irresistible to me, though I am hoping to break free of one of them by the beginning of next year.  I don’t bother trying to resist the rest of them.  Why resist?  These aren’t temptations that really cause any harm to anyone.  An occasional glass of Merlot isn’t the same as getting drunk on a regular basis, for instance.

“All things in moderation” is my motto.  That’s not to say that someone should go out and use illicit drugs even if it is in moderation.  If it’s even remotely possible that it will kill you, I’d say you should probably avoid it.

  1. You are totally right. Unfortunately, some things I seem not to be able to limit to “moderation”. Fortunately, most things won’t kill me. Ah hell, I’m gonna go pop a can of Dr. P and watch the Doctor Whos I have on my DVR!

Thanks so much for linking to the Spin Cycle!!

  2. I just went to a talk by a dietician, and she said the same thing; moderation is key! There’s nothing wrong with a nice glass of Merlot every now and then!

Thanks for linking up to the Spin Cycle this week!

  3. Moderation is key, but sometimes so hard to achieve. Sadly, snacks have a tendency to snowball on me–I’ll just have a little, then a bit more and then where did that bag go?
