Run Away With Me

The metal men were getting closer.  Shelly hid behind a dumpster hoping they wouldn’t find her.  She’d seen them kill so many of her friends and family.  Somebody had called them Cybermen.  To her they were simply nightmare in silver.  She prayed to whatever god might be listening that they wouldn’t find her hiding place. They were right in front of her when someone grabbed her hand and simply said, “Run”.  She didn’t know why, but she obeyed instantly.  She held onto that hand for dear life.  Following a strange man wasn’t something she did on a regular basis, but this wasn’t an ordinary circumstance. The streets were decorated for Halloween.  A Halloween that was spoiled by the fact that the kids couldn’t put on their makeup or spray paint their hair because there would be no water
